Routes of the Frankopans in Zagreb

Routes of the Frankopans in Zagreb

The Routes of the Frankopans project is currently being presented through a series of free events at the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center in Zagreb. Yesterday, the spotlight was on Bakar’s role in the Routes of the Frankopans, and our task, as long-time collaborators of the Bakar Tourist Board, was to create a playful activity for all participants.

We prepared a fun quiz that revealed which member of the Frankopan family is each participant’s kindred spirit. In an amusing twist, it turned out that many attendees were deceiving themselves while answering!

The quiz was a great way to engage the audience, who had expected a standard lecture, and to show them how game elements work in practice. It also served as an excellent promotion of what visitors can experience firsthand if they explore Bakar and its surroundings.

With our help, the local tourist board has developed several analog gamification projects inspired by the Frankopans. These include an escape-the-castle-type tour called Dark Secrets of the Frankopans, the self-guided exploration booklet Playful Bakar, and the puzzle-filled interpretive trail Frankopan Adventure.
