This Saturday, June 17th, as part of an exciting event in Šišan, a playful interpretive walk will begin at 6:30 PM at the town square (Placa). The walk also marks the launch of a fascinating new publication, created in collaboration between the Ližnjan Tourist Board and the Italian Community of Šišan—the Mysterious Šišan brochure.
Inside the brochure, two illustrated guides, Anna and Toni, usually lead the way. But this Saturday, they get a break—real-life interpretive guides will welcome you instead, sharing the intriguing stories of Šišan in person. Along the way, you’ll receive puzzle-filled brochures, and together, we’ll try to solve their mysteries. Get ready for a small but thrilling adventure, suitable for all ages! Participation is free—just bring a pencil, a good mood, and a curious mind.
After the premiere event, the brochure will be available at the Tourist Office in nearby Ližnjan. You can use it on your own as a tool to explore Šišan at your own pace. Just drop by and pick up your free copy, available in four languages—Croatian, Italian, English, and German. The brochure was created with the support of the Croatian Electric Company (HEP).
The information comes from expert literature as well as the stories and traditions of Šišan’s residents. Students from the Pula School of Applied Arts and Design contributed their talents by creating illustrations, making this an intergenerational project that resulted in an innovative tourism experience. We hope you’ll be surprised by what you discover in Šišan!
And if you enjoy Mysterious Šišan, there’s more! Last year, the Ližnjan Tourist Board released Treasure Fishing, a puzzle-based guide that uncovers Ližnjan’s fishing heritage. It even comes with an augmented reality app, ribAR.
Join us this Saturday and discover Šišan through the lens of riddles!
